The LINK Model 1450 Low Pressure Wear Machine is designed to generate accelerated rotor wear with the application of low-pressure drag, simulating rotor kindness and wear characteristics representative of off-brake operation.
A fixture holds the friction sample parallel and flat to the rotor without vibration and the sample is centered for mid-radius alignment at a twelve o’clock position. The apply operation system is capable of pressures up to 1 Bar. Test speed is at the equivalent rpm of 113 kph and test environment is at ambient conditions.
The motor is mounted to allow adjustment for adaptation to various rotor thickness sizes, while the sample fixture allows adjustment for different rotor diameters. A dial indicator is utilized for test setup. Typical methods for final inspection are micrometer measurement and surface finish.
