The Model 3900SR is optimized for brake squeal and is intended for use in general brake performance testing. This unit uses a fixed-disc mounted on the back of the motor, and inertia simulation for testing. It can perform drag and full stop tests for vehicles ranging from the smallest passenger cars to light trucks. Testing of full vehicle brake corner sections and axle fixtures is supported.
This dynamometer can replicate the test conditions specified in all international brake NVH test standards including SAE J2521. The double-wall enclosure provides a high a high level of noise and thermal insulation. Additionally, the enclosure is constructed to allow environmental testing using one of several optional environmental conditioning units. The typical unit provides ranges of –20º C to 40º C and 20 to 90% relative humidity.
The NVH module is based on the Brüel & Kjær Portable PULSE™ system. The PULSE system runs under the ProLink software package to maximize the ease of use while providing a full set of noise and vibration analysis capabilities.
