Service Technician:
The candidate must have electronic/mechanical experience as detailed below:
The service technician shall perform startup, checkout, quality control, and various customer support functions for a wide variety of industrial test equipment such as (but not limited to) brake dynamometers, in-vehicle systems, spring testers and miscellaneous test stands. These functions will be performed either at a Link facility or at the customer’s location. The ability to perform these tasks domestically and internationally is required. The service technician will report directly to the Service Manager. Supporting paperwork shall be turned in for each project. Paperwork may include but shall not be limited to daily labor tickets, service reports, expense reports, and calibration reports.
• Completion of a standard high school program or vocational program
• Minimum of 2 year degree or certificate related to electronics (may be waved in lieu of experience)
• Minimum of 2 years of experience working with industrial electronic / automotive component test equipment
• Functional and applicable knowledge of electrical and electronic principalsFunctional and applicable knowledge of
mechanical principals
• Functional and applicable knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic principals
• Exceptional troubleshooting skills
• Safely work with AC and DC voltages up to 600 vac
• Properly calibrate and document a variety of sensors, circuit boards, and equipment
• Moderate level of soldering and de-soldering skills
• Ability to read and understand various styles of electrical schematics
• Ability to read and understand various styles of hydraulic and pneumatic schematics
• Basic knowledge of relay logic control systems, PLC control systems, signal conditioning requirements of various
sensors & transducers, AC and DC drive control systems, pneumatic and hydraulic control systems and standards,
various closed loop control systems and theories, failsafe design standards, National Electrical Code, how various
sensors & transducers operate, various electro-mechanical devices.
• Must have valid drivers license
• Must have readily available and reliable transportation
• Must be able to operate a motor vehicle
• Moderate amount of US and international travel. Typically, but not limited to, between 10% ~ 40% travel >
100miles.
• Ability to maintain pleasant working relationships with fellow workers and customers
• Ability to learn assigned tasks readily while developing some skill in the assigned tasks.
• Ability to adhere to prescribed policies and procedures.
• Ability to perform manual tasks in a service environment.
• Ability to read, write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Some knowledge of spelling, punctuation and grammar.
• Ability to effectively present information to customers and other employees of the organization.
• Ability to perform simple arithmetic calculations with or without a calculator.
• Ability to perform operations and conversions using various engineering physical units
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carryout detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Ability to deal with problems involving few concrete variables in standard situations.
• While performing this job, the employee is required to effectively use the equipment listed under the “Materials,

• While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach
with hands and arms and talk and hear.
• Employees must be able to walk and stand for long periods of time without a break

Automotive Test Technician:
Link Testing Laboratories, Inc. is currently interviewing for the full-time position of “Brake Dynamometer Technician” in our Detroit facility. The ideal candidate should have a proven mechanical aptitude, experience in automotive and / or heavy-duty truck brakes, availability for day or night shift, and the ability to troubleshoot basic mechanical or electrical problems. Must also have own tools or have the ability to acquire tools within 30 days of hire. Engineering and PC experience is a plus. LINK is seeking a motivated individual to join our team at either our Mesa, Arizona or Allen Park, Michigan facility. The ideal candidate’s responsibilities would include: Vehicle test project management and implementation. Interpreting, organizing, executing and coordinating customer jobs. Perform and design test specifications using proper engineering techniques. Analyze test results and provide engineering reports that meet customer specifications.
