The Model 20200 Portable Roller Brake Tester measures brake forces at each wheel with strain-gage type transducers that can be dead-weight calibrated quickly in-place. This is the same equipment used by state enforcement and OEM. It is simple to use and brakes on a five-axle tractor trailer can be checked in only 5 to 10 minutes total. This includes the following measurements at each wheel:
- Rolling Resistance - detects dragging brakes that consume brake linings and fuel
- Brake Threshold Pressure - determines if all brakes start working at the same pressure level
- Service Brake Force - checks proper function. Finds defective brakes, oil-soaked linings, etc.
- Parking Brake Force - finds weak or broken spring brakes, bad valves and other defects
- ABS/ATC Operation - automatically checks sensors, valves and wiring.
The tester can be placed on a garage floor or parking lot and does not require a special foundation or pit. It is only 6 inches high above the rollers. Just plug in the power cord and the tester is ready to run. When not in use, ramps quickly fold up so that the unit is only 3 feet wide. With optional casters and dolly, one person can easily raise the unit and roll it out of the way.
