Transmission & Driveline Systems

Driveline System Performance

Driveline system performance tests are used to assess transmission and driveline component function and system interactions, and Link has several test facilities available for this type of testing. Inertia dynamometers can also be adapted for testing of automatic transmission, manual clutch, or differential systems. Vehicle testing can be performed on the four roll chassis dynamometer at the ARC facility in Canton, Michigan or at the Proving Grounds facilities located in Michigan, Ohio and Arizona.

Powertrain System NVH

Powertrain system NVH evaluation and test methods are continually being developed and implemented by Link. Programs involving a wide spectrum of vibration and frequency levels, ranging from low frequency shudder phenomenon to higher frequency squeal or squawk events have been investigated. Link’s expertise in instrumentation, data acquisition and test methodology can be utilized for numerous types of NVH investigations and evaluations.

Standard and Developmental Procedures:

Link works with clients to integrate corporate standard procedures or develop new test that address specific vehicle and Powertrain system operating conditions and NVH concerns.

The hemi-anechoic chamber chassis dynamometer at the ARC, controlled track conditions at the Link Proving Grounds or actual road and traffic conditions on our LA city route can be use to replicate severe or unique operating test conditions. Vehicles can be expertly instrumented with accelerometers and microphones to accurately measure vibration and sound levels.
