In October of 2016, LINK welcomed Scott Tonn to the team as Chief Engineer, China. Equipped with a thorough understanding of brake and chassis application and design, Scott will oversee the technical support and development of the team in China. He joins LINK at an exciting period of growth and opportunity, and his addition will further strengthen our position across Asia.
Scott spent his first several months at our headquarters to better understand the opportunities and capabilities of LINK. With more than 20 years of experience in brake development, Scott has been involved in brake system design, foundation brake, friction material, and brake NVH development. He has been in charge of dynamometer, bench test, and vehicle test groups.
Scott most recently worked at ADVICS NA for 14 years, and before that, worked for Visteon and Akebono. Beyond conventional brake system development, he has worked in advanced technology including frictionless brake and brake-by-wire.
This past April, Scott was among several LINK representatives to attend the CFSMA exhibition in China. During the show, LINK demonstrated its broad range of capabilities and spoke with friction material experts from around the world.
Moving forward, Scott is eager to help local customers pursue innovative solutions for their vehicles. We are excited by the leadership, experience, and vision Scott brings to LINK China. We are confident that he will strengthen our efforts to support our international customers and help move the industry forward.
