This week’s Product Spotlight is our LINK-DTE Bearing Seal Test Stand. This stand provides dynamic testing of wheel bearings under load with salt and slurry exposure, and perform GM specification GMN 5357, sections 5.3.2 and 5.3.3.
The Bearing Seal Test Stands operate with a 2,500 RPM max speed and have a 3 horse power motor. They can handle a vertical loading up to 4,000 lbs., and a horizontal loading up to 2,000 lbs. The test stands come with a slurry system, and can operate at -20 degrees Celsius. In addition to these features, the test stands are compact and mobile so they can be moved easily in and out of an environmental chamber.
The manufacturing process of these test stands involves highly accurate, yet extremely low friction air cylinders. The piston rod is supported by air bearings which prevents any metal-to-metal contact. This form of construction provides a long life for the test stands.
