As Thanksgiving is fast approaching, we would like to take a moment to appreciate the loyal customers and employees who have made our company what it is today. This is the perfect opportunity to reflect on the important things in life such as family and friends.
For those who may not know why Thanksgiving is celebrated or for those rusty on their early American history, here is a brief reminder. In the 1620s, the colonists in Plymouth, Massachusetts (not to be confused with Plymouth, Michigan) had a hard time surviving the rough winter during their first year in America. The Native Americans of the area gave the Pilgrims seeds and food to help them through, and that led to a great harvest the following year. To celebrate the harvest, the Pilgrims and the colonists held a three day feast to give thanks for their good fortune. That event is known as the first Thanksgiving.
That is the shortened version of why we celebrate Thanksgiving. If you celebrate Thanksgiving you probably have your own traditions that you cherish. While the details of our celebrations may differ, the beauty of this time of year is that we get to take a step back and enjoy quality time with those that matter. From our family to yours, Happy Thanksgiving!
