A Successful 34th Annual SAE Brake Colloquium!

Team members stand at a Link Engineering display at the annual SAE Brake Colloquium & Exhibition, held in Scottsdale, Arizona this year.

Attending the SAE Brake Colloquium & Exhibition is a longstanding tradition at LINK. Held this year in Scottsdale, AZ, 2016 marked another successful event.

The Colloquium offers the latest in brake technology and consists of panel discussions and exhibitions. To help support the event and move the industry forward, LINK participates in many of the presentations and sessions. Roy Link, CEO and Chairman at LINK and one of the founders of the Brake Colloquium has proudly supported the event since its inception. He is now the General Chair of the Colloquium’s executive committee.

Tim Duncan, LINK’s Executive VP, Business Development and Global Test Operations shared, “The Brake Colloquium was started by a core group of industry professionals and developed such a following that we needed to work with the Society of Automotive Engineers so everyone could be accommodated.” This year, LINK maintained its presence, not only as an exhibitor, but in the functions of session organizer, session panelist, and presenter.

“This year, like in past years,” Duncan continued, “Carlos Agudelo, Director of Technology Development, presented a paper on brake behavior during city traffic for vehicles with internal combustion engines and hybrid powertrains; Michael Rohde, General Manager of LINK Europe, Yasushi Suganuma, General Manager of LINK Japan, and Carlos participated as panelists; and Roy, Carlos, and I were each session organizers.”

Participation in the SAE Brake Colloquium by LINK staff has been going on for years. “We take pride in presenting and facilitating these sessions,” Roy Link stated. “We want to do our part, along with all the other companies, in sharing ideas, developing standards, and making cars safer. Can’t wait for next year!”
