Plymouth, MI – Link Engineering and Safran Messier-Bugatti-Dowty (Safran MBD) are celebrating the arrival of two new Model 6900 Aircraft Dynamometers in Villeurbanne of Lyon, France. This marks the first, and hopefully and the beginning, of many partnership programs between Link and Safran MBD.
The two dynamometers will be the first full-scale shaft inertia dynamometers to be put into Safran’s MBD Villeurbanne testing facility. These dynamometers will be capable of performing full-scale testing on aircraft brakes, are fully-automated, and are the result of a great deal of custom engineering.
The initial negotiations for the dynamometers began in October of 2012, so the completion of this project is a cause for celebration by both companies. The two dynamometers, named MF-7 and MF-8 by Safran, are completely unique and were made possible through the hard work of many Safran MBD and Link personnel.
