Since 2012 Manufacturing Day has given manufacturers the chance to increase awareness of the bountiful opportunities in manufacturing to local high schools. By bringing together open-minded students and facility tours at local manufacturing plants, we shed some light on modern manufacturing facilities. On October 6th, 2017 LINK participated in this year’s Manufacturing Day by hosting 60 students between our Plymouth and Livonia location.
Students, grade 11th and 12th from William D. Ford Career-Technical Center and Cass Technical High School were given an overview of LINK and our manufacturing facilities, followed by a comprehensive hands-on tour of the two facilities. Each tour concluded with an informational Q&A session and takeaways for the students. Many of our LINK employees look forward to this event, and volunteer to be a part of it and engage with the students.
Every year, Manufacturing Day informs students of career opportunities in manufacturing as well as gives students the chance to learn more about it. Manufacturing Day is an excellent way to raise awareness of manufacturing in future generations. We look forward our opportunity again next year!
