LINK Participation in Brazil Brake Colloquium

Jul 24, 2017

On May 24-25, 2017 in Caxias do Sul, the SAE Brazil Regional Section held their 13th edition of the International Brake Colloquium. From professional brake experts to interested students, this international event brought the brake field together to meet, see and discuss its new technologies. This is known as one of the largest brake related events in Brazil, and draws people in from all over the world.

LINK ‘s booth highlighted the services and expertise that has made the LINK name so familiar to our Brazilian customers. We showcased our latest engineering accomplishments, the residual brake tailstock for brake dynamometers and the Model 4000 V-Max data acquisition systems, which have found critical acclaim with brake OEMs as well as vehicle manufacturers. Since their introduction, these systems have been runaway successes for LINK, with 17 V-Max systems sold alone in Europe in 2016. On top of this, LINK announced that the LINK Laboratory and Vehicle Level Testing Services at Sorocaba are now officially accredited by Inmetro according to ABNT NBR ISO/IEC 17025:2005!

At the event, LINK’s Director of Technology Development Carlos Agudelo, held a widely respected presentation on “Resolving Particulate Matter Emission from Automotive Brakes using Inertia Dynamometer Testing”. Within the last year, LINK has taken on a leading role in developing procedures and techniques to capture brake dust, analyze where the emissions are created in the braking process, and determine what their consistency is. In other parts of the world, an increasing emphasis in reducing environmental effects of brake pad ingredients is forming, and LINK intends to be at the leading edge.

Eduardo Ferro, General Manager of LINK Brazil, excitedly mentioned that the event attracted more than 300 attendants. Link Engineering Company seeks out every opportunity to meet with professional brake experts and students from around the world to discuss the future of the industry and showcase our latest solutions. We thank everyone who stopped by the LINK booth this year at the SAE Brazil International Brake Colloquium.
