Model 2636 Brake Functionality Test Stand
Overview
The Model 2636 Brake Functionality Test Stand is a versatile system that can perform a number of performance and durability tests of automotive brake components. Available options include high- and low-pressure pneumatic leak testing, 24-hour low pressure hydraulic leak testing, and vacuum-enabled piston draw back.
The Model 2636 Brake Functionality Test Stand can also perform tests for piston roll back and piston knock back in automotive brake calipers. The tests are performed by applying fluid pressure to the brake caliper simulating service conditions and measures movement of the brake piston. When the fluid pressure is released, the natural rollback of the piston can be measured. During knockback testing, a force may be applied directly to the piston by a linear actuator in order to stimulate additional piston movement.
The test bench is constructed from stainless steel over an aluminum frame. A T-slot allows a variety of test parts and fixtures to be mounted on the test bench to simulate real-life installations. Linear measurement devices are mounted on individual magnetic stands with quick release bolts to provide proper stiffness for measurements. The bench contains two power outlets and provides storage space for fixtures.
All test control and data acquisition are performed by a PC-based control system using ProLINK software. The open architecture of ProLINK allows easy customization to suit testing requirements.
