LINK Vibration Test Stand (VTS)
VTS Product Overview
Understanding the natural frequency and damping properties of brake pads, brake rotors, engine blades, or any other type of component is key when developing products, however, these dynamic behaviors change when a clamping force is applied. Due to this, Maul-Theet’s Vibration Test Stand (VTS) systems provide a solution depending on the customer’s needs, leading to three test stand configurations:
- VTS with Customer Hydraulic: This package includes vibration measurement tools (modal hammer, sensors, data acquisition) integrated with PC software. When the component is clamped, automatic resonance frequency determination begins. Optionally, a pressure sensor checks and documents clamping force. Save results and measurement data for convenient report creation.
- VTS with Manual Hydraulic: This solution features a manual hydraulic unit integrated into an aluminum profile test bench with an adjustable clamping unit. The test bench design is customizable to suit the customer’s application. The clamping force is easily adjusted using a toggle switch and can be measured and displayed in the VTS software with the VTS controller. The VTS software automatically blocks vibration measurement for clamping forces outside the permissible range.
- VTS with PLC-Controlled Hydraulic: This solution features PLC control for the hydraulic unit, overseeing proportional valves for preload, tension, and clamping force control during vibration measurement. Pressure accumulators maintain stable clamping forces for 20 minutes without pump operation in experimental measurements. Achieve PLC-controlled hydraulic clamping forces of up to 650 kN.
